I am so glad there is a series like this out there. It is so helpful and easy to read. It might feel a little too simple for high school age and older. The book is well put together with definitions highlighted/bolded and then explained on the side of the page. There are also great historical pictures as well as what I like to call "everday pictures". It helps show someone who might not understand the LGBTQ community is full of people who do the same things as everyone else but also explains how some of those things are different.

The Devlins first collaborated in the 1950s on a syndicated comic strip, Raggmopp, based on the antics of their seven children. After this, for more than thirty years from 1963 to 1995, Harry and Wende delighted young children with their Cranberry and Old Witch series.

Some of these stories contained more than just happy endings, featuring recipes pleasing to children and adults alike. In fact, many people remember Old Black Witch as the "Blueberry Pancake Witch," and this beloved series went on to sell over a million and a half books.

Our Grade Two class loves to celebrate the holidays with a visit to Cranberryport. Cranberry Valentine is a great book to read on Valentine's Day. We especially liked this book because it showed us that friends are always there when you need them. As in all the other Cranberry books Mr. Whiskers was there to lead us on another fun adventure with Maggie,Grandmother, and all the other Cranberryport friends. Grandmother is the best cook in Cranberryport and we love to try her recipes that are included in each book. We recommend this book to Everyone! Our favourite saying is "suffering codfish".

A Cranberry Classic!

I grew up with the book "Cranberry Thanksgiving" and I'm so glad to be able to track down other books in the Cranberry family. These books are a bit long for my 5 year old, but as she gets older I know she will appreciate them as I did as a kiddo! The recipes make great memories too!!

This includes an understanding of basic economics concepts such as supply and demand, monopoly, market power and marginal cost. The second part of the book asks how a set of generation, load, and transmission resources should be efficiently operated, and the third part focuses on the generation investment decision. Part 4 addresses the question of the management of risk and Part 5 discusses the question of market power. Any power system must be operated at all times in a manner which can accommodate the next potential contingency. This demands responses by generators and loads on a very short timeframe. Part 6 of the book addresses the question of dispatch in the very short run, introducing the distinction between preventive and corrective actions and why preventive actions are sometimes required. The seventh part deals with pricing issues that arise under a regionally-priced market, such as the Australian NEM. About the Author

Dr Biggar is Australia’s leading expert on the economics of wholesale electricity markets and the economics of public utility regulation. Since 2002 he has provided economic advice primarily to the Australian Energy Regulator and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. He has also provided advice to other government agencies including the Australian Energy Markets Operator, the Australian Energy Markets Commission, and the New Zealand Electricity Authority. He has published a number of papers in academic journals in the economics of electricity markets and the economics of public utility regulation and regularly provides training courses in these areas to government agencies and industry. He has a particular interest in the assessment of market power in wholesale electricity markets and in matters related to wholesale market design.

Dr Hesamzadeh is assistant professor in electric power systems division of the school of electrical engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. Dr Hesamzadeh is a world leader in the modelling of market power in wholesale electricity markets, particularly in the context of transmission planning. His special fields of interests include Power Systems Planning and Design, Economics of Wholesale Electricity Markets, and Mathematical Modelling and Computing. Hesamzadeh is currently working towards his Docent degree in Electricity Markets at KTH.

This book examines why it is so difficult to improve standards of international behaviour and explores the pre-conditions for any realistic attempt to do so. It discusses three major issues that have dominated international debate over the past decade: the tension between sovereignty and national self-determination; the problems associated with the attempt to spread democracy around the world; and the desirability of external intervention in ethnic and religious conflicts.


Rejecting both the unfounded optimism of the early 1990s and the cynical pessimism of more recent years, Professor Mayall points to the strong elements of continuity in international life. He concludes that international society is unlikely to be successfully reformed if governments continue to will progressive ends whilst evading responsibility for their actions.

About the Author
James Mayall is Sir Patrick Sheehy Professor of International Relations at the University of Cambridge, and Fellow of Sidney Sussex College. He has written widely on nationalism, international society, and Africa's international relations.
